The Neptunian Empire (More commonly refered to as Neptunia) is an planetary nation which operates on Neptune (Which is part of the Solar system, itself part of the Elkska galaxy, the backup galaxy of the Lizardians), as well as Uranus and Triton (Both of which are under joint adminisration of the Neptunian and Lizardian Empires, as well as the moons of the former and the other moons of Neptune). The nation is an major ally of the Lizardian Empire, as well as the Human nations of the UN, often fighting on their side in times of war. It's home planet, Neptune, serves as an highly important base of operation for many companies, including Matrix Technolgies and JCJenson (Both of which come from Earth).

Project Azure Horizon & Early Settlement
Humanity's foothold on Neptune started in 2034 after the groundbreaking creation of quantum-tunneling drives, which allowed it to reach the outer Solar system without long slogs lasting for decades. The UN led the project, which was named Project Azure Horizion. Before the quantum drives were created, back in the 2020's, Human probes uncovered an hidden secret: underneath the great methane stroms and supersonic winds, lay an vast subsurface that can be inhabited, has an bizarre ocean of supercitrical fluids as well as vast icy plateaus stabilized by the the planet's intense magentic fleid and eternal geothermal churn. There are no bonecrushing pressures like Jupiter's hellish depths of gas: instead there are pockets of beathable air (That can used with mods), tolertable cold (-150°C on an good day) and even faint traces of auroral lights filtering down like eternal twilight. The first settlers were a group of hardened enigineers, scienists and adventurers from Earth, Mars and the Belt. They built dome-like outposts on the cyan blue hills, collecting Heilum-3 from the air for fusion energy and mining exotic ices for water, as well as fuel.
UN Protectorate Era
By 2050, Neptune's population grew to 10'000 and it became an protectorate of the UN, as well as an hub for deep space exploration. While life on Neptune was tough, it thirved: hydropontic farms provided food for the planet's inhabitans while using UV light, kids were having fun in the low-grav caverns and the "Layered Hills", formed from the planet's anicent atmosphere + shining in green, yellow, cyan and purple, were bringing weathly tourists from the across the Lizardverse. The culture? An mix of antartic research stations and wild-western boomtowns, but with advanced tech and holografic UN flags flying across the planet.
Alliance with the Lizardians
Then, misterious signals came from the Kupier Belt in 2105, which led to the Lizardians (AKA the Lizards and the Saurids), an alien species torn by wars and coming to find an refurge among the stars. At first, contact with the Lizardians was problematic due their cultural differences, but the Neptunians offered them an new home on the equtorial areas, where the steam vents created an cilmate similar to that of their homeworld. This resulted in an technolgical exchange, which benefitted both sides equally. By the time 2107 came (And before the III. Solver War broke out in the MD: ROTM universe), the Lizards and the Neptunians were allies, with deep cultural exchanges happening on such an large scale that it made the planet's culture unique.
The Cyngen Offensive
Then, in 2115, Cyn, the boss of Cyngen Technolgies, started an attack on Neptune, causing the deaths of counless Lizards, Humans and Drones. However, the Neptunians fought back. The Lizards were immune to the Sover thanks to their bio-sheids + they led partisan operations on Neptune, Humans hacked Cyngen's system and Drones jammed Cyn's signals, resulting in her down fall by 2130 (Which happened thanks to Cyn's flagship, the Absolute Eternity, being destroyed by an joint Lizardian-Neptunian fleet).
The Anti-Solver Shield World
However, Cyn wasn't done yet. She came back to life though backups and then attacked again, but this time, the Neptunians were ready. Lizard shamans wove anti-AI wards into Neptune's magnetic field, turning the planet into an Anti-Solver Sheild World. By 2135, Cyn and Cyngen were destroyed in an attack when the joint fleet attacked and then destroyed Cyn's flagship, the Absolute Eternity for good.
Peacekeeper of the Lizardverse
Since then, the Neptunian Empire has become the peacekeep of the Lizardverse, it's legendary ice blue cruiser fleet, powered by the remanants of the Solver itself (As well as Void Engines powered by the MATRIX program and black holes + dark matter and dark energy) becoming famous and aiding the forces of good (I.e, the Lizardians and their allies) by guarding important places such as wornholes alongside the MATRIX Drones, who are famous for defeating the Solver itself three times. It's legendary Aurora Shields are commonly used as protection against highly dangerous digital theats, it's cultural events (Such as the Scale Song Solstice and the Day of the Eternal Aurora) are well-known and it's diplomacy has an history, from stopping zombies from destroying Earth to teaming up with ethereal beings in the rebuilding of the Void Realms.
Present Day
Today, Neptunia has an population of over 6 billion people, Lizards, Drones and hybrids (As of 2136). The Layered Hills are now part of an memorial park, bearing scars from the time when Cyn tried to take over the Lizardverse, with the planet's heart beating strongly. As Emperor Kaur (An child of the first settler) once said: "We fell into the dark abyss and climbed out with allies. Now, we guard the edges so that others don't have to."
