Lizard-Planets Wiki

Rules

Below are additional guidelines outlining expected behavior, for your consideration. These exist to promote inclusivity and keep this Wiki safe. Moderators can take action surrounding them, but they exist on a scale of acceptable to actionable rather than being clear-cut like above. Accepting the rules implies an understanding of these guidelines as well.

  • Keep it civil: Do not make personal attacks on other people. If you need to criticize another user's argument, do so without attacking them as a person. Do not use bigoted language, including slurs which degrade another person or group of people based on gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc.
  • Be a productive member of the wiki: Contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. Disrupting the wiki with "edit warring" over differing opinions of a topic with another user or group of users is not productive.
  • Do not engage in excessive self-promotion: The wiki is a collaborative community resource for the topic at hand. It is NOT a free place to advertise your related website, YouTube channel, blog, social media account, etc. Have a question about whether your link would be welcome? Ask an administrator!
  • Do not harass other users: If somebody asks you to stop posting certain content on their wall, respect their wishes. It is their wall.
  • Do follow community guidelines for formatting: When a community has established formatting, it's important to adhere to that, especially when spoiler content is involved.

Absolute Rule

Absolute Rule
No user is above the rules; no staff member or user is to act like they are above anything and are to act in accordance with the rules

Dichotomy

Rule Code Rule Punishment
LP:r:1.0 Lizard-Planets Wiki can be used by anyone and everyone! Because of this, knowledge of astronomy, Murder Drones, and Lizard-Planets Wiki itself varies from user to user. Always respect the position the other is in and never use derogatory language or media against someone for not knowing. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a warning or block depending on the severity
LP:r:1.1 We can disagree and debate so long as we maintain the dignity of the other. Never include personal attacks or slights in your arguments. Moderators have the final say if a debate is escalating and needs to be shut down. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a warning and post locked/deleted
LP:r:1.2 Lizard-Planets staff are humans, just like you! Team members interact voluntarily, and must be treated with the same dignity and respect as everyone else. They are not obligated to reply to questions/comments, and will never distribute free products or make program changes based on the suggestions of one. If a mod says no or goes offline, do not pursue them. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a warning or block, depending on how severe it gets
LP:r:1.3 Know your limits. Significantly impaired/intoxicated individuals will be removed promptly from posts and temporarily lose chat privileges. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a warning
LP:r:1.4 On this Wiki, we use English to communicate. English is complicated, and a second language for many, so don't judge your neighbor for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, or less than perfect diction. In the same vein, if someone asks you for clarification, do your best to honor them! Failure to abide by this rule will result in a warning
LP:r:1.5 Countless individuals suffer from mental health issues, disorders, or disabilities. Exercise patience and never tease or call out someone for having one. Reach out (or contact an Administrator) if someone displays warning signs of self-harm or suicide.
LP:r:1.6 Many community members make frequent use of GIFs. These are a gray area in terms of relevance and interpretation, and are subject to the same rules as any other chat message. Any GIF not in No Access that doesn't appear to be on-topic to the surrounding conversation may be deleted without warning by moderators. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a warning

Accounts

Rule Code Rule Punishment

LP:r:2.1 Accounts must be 2 months old on-wiki to be eligible for moderator and administrator requests. This is a great opportunity to showcase your edits and contributions before you become eligible
LP:r:2.2 Sockpuppet accounts are not permitted. Such accounts will be reported to FANDOM. Upon identification, the sockpuppet account will receive a permanent block, and if the original creator is found within the wiki, they will also be blocked, albeit for a shorter time
LP:r:2.3 Bot accounts are not allowed unless you are an administrator or moderator. Bot accounts should only be created through a majority vote with the staff team. If a user or staff member adds a bot without majority vote or permission, they will be blocked and demoted

Report godmodding to Lizard-Planets staff by mentioning or pinging them. A warning or block will be issued based on severity. Blocks are given due to significant backlash against godmodding
LP:r:3.1 Do not derail an RP. Derailing occurs when an RP strays from its intended purpose. If a character introduces an off-topic goal, this constitutes derailing. The RP will be restarted with the owner's permission, or derailing messages will be deleted
LP:r:3.2 RP owners retain full control over their RPs. Users cannot take control of the RP's direction, setting, or topic. If a user is found taking control without the owner's permission, they will be warned
LP:r:3.3 Erotic Roleplay is not permitted. This includes sexual interactions or inappropriate touching in RPs. Erotic Roleplaying can make other users uncomfortable. Violators will receive a temporary block
LP:r:3.4 Meta-Knowledge is prohibited. Only the roleplay creator may have complete knowledge of the RP's context. Meta-Knowledge refers to a character knowing everything about other characters' lore or RP goals. Violations will result in a warning and message editing
LP:r:3.5 Character Puppeteering is not allowed. Puppeteering means controlling another character without the creator's consent. For example, "Character A attacks Character B and kills them" is a violation. Messages will be edited or deleted
LP:r:3.6 Roleplays should be serious unless designated as Joke RPs. Joke RPs are for light-hearted fun without specific goals. Users joke-roleplaying in serious RPs will receive a warning
