Niunope, is the jungle-covered second moon in orbit around the Venus-Like Terrestrial Exoplanet Lizard-718-O. Prior to and during the war with the People (not humans), it hosted the headquarters of the Lizardian Military, a group of resistance fighters that opposed the dominant Lizardian Empire. Following a major battle that took place around Niunope, the Alliance went on the run, and eventually relocated its headquarters to Lizard-7759.
Description
The surface of Niunope was divided into several continental masses. Notable natural formations included Yassassi Canyon, Skyscraper Hill, and the Ferrous Mangroves. The verdant world had a comfortable, temperate climate but a challenging ecosystem and dangerous predators.
The moon's landmasses were covered by dense jungles and rain forests, whose flora included purple-barked Yassassi palms, Antimatter fungi, bioluminescent orchids, and crawling ferns. Niunope also had swampy areas. The moon, however, was completely lacking in any mineral resources of significance.
