Mako

Mako is a moon of Aiko

Mako is an anomaly among natural satellites. Unlike its sibling Yuki, which exudes a living, glimmering presence, Mako is deathly still — a silent observer of the dark ballet it shares with Aiko. The surface appears to absorb light unnaturally, reflecting only a fraction of what strikes it. In visible wavelengths, it seems inert; however, infrared scans frequently reveal faint, rhythmic pulses emanating from deep within its crust.

Fragments recovered from surface sample probes have shown to emit low-frequency vibrations when exposed to fluids originating from Aiko, generating harmonic resonance patterns yet to be deciphered. Though entirely airless, Mako's gravitational influence periodically distorts Aiko's upper atmospheric layers, creating massive tidal bulges in the blood oceans below.

Lizardian explorers have dubbed it "The Silent Hunger" — a world whose dead heart seems ever-watchful, ever-consuming. Superstition claims that Mako feeds on lost transmissions and wandering signals, explaining why drone missions often experience unexplained shutdowns when passing within 50,000 km of its surface.
